  28 November 2025 he Residents of Subryanville welcome the Cease and Desist Order issued by Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA) on 6 October 2025 to David Sugrim for the unauthorized, unlawful and illegal prefab structures being erected on Farnum’s Playing Field for use as Mae’s Schools. The media reported it on the 19 November 2025, CH&PA orders halt to construction of Mae’s School after works were finished – owner – Demerara Waves Online News- Guyana . The Residents of Subryanville await follow up action, from all the relevant authorities and statutory bodies, inter alia, the issuing and enforcement of a demolition order to remove the unauthorized, unlawful and illegal prefab structures from the Farnum’s Playing Field before 25 December 2025. Since the 9 September 2025, at a community meeting hosted by the Residents of Subryanville, the Mayor, the City Engineer and two Councilors, informed Mr. Sugrim in person that the prefab structures were unauthorized....

Kindly see attached photographs which nullify the developer's claim in the aforementioned article. The Residents of Subryanville once again call on CHPA  To enforce the aforementioned cease-and-desist order dated 6 October 2025. In collaboration with other relevant agencies to demolish/ dismantle the unauthorized, illegal and unlawful structure by or before 25 December 2025.   Dear Honourable Minister of Housing & Water CEO, CHPA Board of Directors, CHPA, through appropriate protocol  Weekend peacefulness. Further to the 23 September 2025 email hereinunder and the swift erection of the unauthorized prefab building being developed in Farnum's Playing Field, Subryanville, the residents of Subryanville hereby demand the invocation of Town and Country Planning Act Chapter 20:01, Laws of Guyana. The aforesaid ongoing construction of the prefab building of Mae's Schools by the developer is unauthorized by Mayor & City Council (M&CC) and also by the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA). The ongoing construction site as aforesaid is currently being used for the purposes of a nursery and/or primary school in contravention of other compulsory governmental permits/certification. Relevant government ministries/agencies along with the child services department are copied herewith and notified hereby/hereinunder...
