he Residents of Subryanville welcome the Cease and Desist Order issued by Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHPA) on 6 October 2025 to David Sugrim for the unauthorized, unlawful and illegal prefab structures being erected on Farnum’s Playing Field for use as Mae’s Schools. The media reported it on the 19 November 2025, CH&PA orders halt to construction of Mae’s School after works were finished – owner – Demerara Waves Online News- Guyana.

The Residents of Subryanville await follow up action, from all the relevant authorities and statutory bodies, inter alia, the issuing and enforcement of a demolition order to remove the unauthorized, unlawful and illegal prefab structures from the Farnum’s Playing Field before 25 December 2025.

Since the 9 September 2025, at a community meeting hosted by the Residents of Subryanville, the Mayor, the City Engineer and two Councilors, informed Mr. Sugrim in person that the prefab structures were unauthorized. Mr Sugrim ignored them and went ahead and put up the unauthorized, unlawful and illegal structures.

The Residents of Subryanville also welcome the Ministry of Education’s (MOE) stance on the occupation of the unauthorized, unlawful and illegal prefab structures by Mae’s Schools,No permission granted for prefab Mae’s School on Farnum Ground – Parag – Demerara Waves Online News- Guyana. The MOE in collaboration with other ministries, is in the process of formulating an anti-bullying programme. It is with every hope that the occupation of Farnum’s Playing Field not be allowed to be an example of bullying in the adult sphere as was recently highlighted by one of the residents, Guyanese children are not only aware of bullying but learn that bullyism works - Stabroek News.

Kind reminder for: Demand for demolition of Mae's Schools following CHPA order of cease-and-desist
